The purpose of this PAK Tip is to introduce the "VAS Graphics2Go" module which allows the use of PAK's interactive graphical features directly in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint...) with no PAK being installed on the PC.
The generation of a *.vas_g2g file is done from PAK 5.x/6.x software and requires the VAS Graphics2Go writer licence (D_G2G_WRITER).
1. CREATION OF THE G2G FILE IN PAK
We set what we want to display and share in the "Graphic Definition" in PAK software.
In the example here, the analyses calculated during measurement are displayed for the same channel: an "Order APS", an "Order mag", a "Sum level", as well as the "Throughput" time signal of the channel concerned.
In this display, we will use the cursor and data link functions between "Order APS" (3D) and "Order mag" (2D), the presets, the legends, etc.
In the "File" menu, there are two possibilities:
- Save the G2G file to share it in this format (mail / server storage, ...)
"Save VAS Graphics2Go Package"
Copy it to paste it directly into an Office document (Word, Powerpoint...)
"Copy Graphics2Go Package to Clipboard"
2. USE OF THE G2G FILE: “SAVE VAS GRAPHICS2GO PACKAGE”
The file is stored by default in the location indicated in the "Path Management".
With a double-click, you can open it on any PC where the executable has been installed.
You will be able to find the functionalities of the "Graphic Viewer", such as:
- Scale / Zoom management
- Curve appearance
- Legends / Cursors / Presets recorded at creation
- Playback of the time signal
3. USE OF THE G2G FILE: "COPY TO CLIPBOARD"
Once the G2G has been copied to the clipboard, it can be pasted directly into PowerPoint for example, and double-clicked in the same way as before to open and access it.
In both modes of use of the G2G, it is possible to make a quick copy of the data (right click) and paste it into Excel, for example.
